| I’ve been waiting quite impatiently for months for the 18” SP handguard to come back in stock. I was told in an email several months ago that 14 weeks was the target. It’s well beyond the 14 week guestimate so I am really Jonesing for one to finish off my 28” .458 SOCOM Buffalo Rifle. Any updates as to when the 18” SP might make an appearance? Thanks. |

| Finally the 18” SP came in and man, just what the doctor ordered. It took a little file work to make it fit around the slightly wider than normal DPMS Low-Pro upper, about 4 licks each side with a Pillar file, and my 28 13/16 .458 SOCOM Buffalo Rifle is FINALLY done. The generous interior of the SP rail gave me plenty of room to slide over the custom 1.000 inch low profile gas block, Paladin Machine Shop Service (tp555-work(at)vfemail.net). Thank you MI for another fine build completion. Pics to come if it ever stops raining. |

Without the 18” SP handguard, things looked odd. It’s still odd looking but not disproportionate anymore. Before anyone asks, why rail sections are at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, and 10:30, there are Nylon tipped set screws there making light contact, 5 inch-pounds, to help support the weight of that 28 13/16 .998” diameter barrel. Needed or not, that’s the set up, and it works extremely well. Thank you MI! Attached File FYI, the brake is a TROMIX Super Tanker, 4.750 inches long and makes a 12” barrel over 16” after P&W, should the need arise if pistols are banned and the owner does not wish to or cannot go the NFA route. |
