I've got a few large pin Colts that need triggers. If large pin MBTs are in the works, I'll wait.

I'm not well-versed in large-pin triggers. Is it just the pin hole that's larger?
If so, you could probably find a competent smith to over bore the pin holes. |

I have a large pin, registered "California Assault Weapon" that I will never get rid of. It is the only AR15 I have that has a normal magazine release..... Everything else has bullet buttons. I am running a JP adjustable trigger in mine (BTW, I cut out the sear block) with the yellow springs, but it isn't nearly as good as an MBT when it comes to take up and let off/trigger reset!!!!!! |

I'm tempted at times to make a bushing with the inner hole at .154 and sell them with the drill size required for the outside of the bushing. You would drill your large pin holes even larger, insert the bushings and install the small pin tirgger group/pins. Use a 'C' clip on the inside of the lower on a pin groove to keep the pin from working out.
Another way would be to install a hardened Allen Head or Torx drive bolt in it with an Acorn nut (Not Obama, albeit he qualifies as such) on the other side.... |

I have another idea. The trigger should be no problem to drill out to .170, but the hammer looks to be a no go. Maybe if you drill out the trigger and use a non rotating pin kit it would keep the hammer lined up correctly...
I have actually used a small pin trigger/hammer/sear kit in a large pin lower before and it worked ok. I don't remember how consistent the trigger was and I wouldn't want to trust my life to it...... |
