Admittedly, the selector is going to take some getting used to, but that was expected. Shooting left handed, I still found myself hitting the safety with my left index finger instead. But training should fix that. The SSA was smooth and crisp as expected.

Once you're used to it, it'll be strange handling an AR without one. The trigger finger side lever provides not just another lever to use, but can also serve to give the user tactile response. If your trigger finger can feel the lever, it's on FIRE

I love seeing our selectors on these high end builds, they look so much at home on them I have a machinist/manufacturer buddy who I was gonna have engrave some arcs for the fire range, but after installing when on fire the selector is clearly above the raised spot by safe- to me that's fire! And I love the ST- playing with lever combos between the two kits I got |

I put the CASS on my new 20" LaRue OBR that I just took possession of after waiting with it on order for several months. After getting used to an ambi safety on my Robarm XCR I had to have an ambi on the OBR.
I decided to go with the CASS after seeing LoneWolfUSMC review it on his MATEN build. Went with the standard/thin combo and love it! Here's the OBR pre-paint job. It will be painted to match the scope soon but just couldn't wait to show it off!

Nice as is, I'd love to see it painted Just got an FN SCAR 16S, nobody had FDE so mine is a black one. I'm hard pressed to find black furniture for it, it'll probably get painted later

I like the I2's color scheme! By the way, you're in the same neighborhood but that's not actually a DBAL. It's a Newcon Optik LAM-2. It's an IR aimer/illuminator but it is a full power class 3 device that civilians can legally get their hands on if they look around. Here's a shot of it before it got painted:
It used to ride on the previously mentioned XCR but I figured the full power laser is probably better suited to the long range rig (in anticipation of TNVC's WASP!) so a DBAL-D2 took its place on the XCR instead. |

| Ok so I have been in a cave I guess for sometime and have just come across these. I have started getting ( hell I always have been) anoyed at my RRA ambi safty and they just got to go. Hell I yanked all of them off already. So I have a few rifles to upgraded ( LaRue Stealth, LaRue OBR, and 2 other AR's that I have built) Can anyone lead me in the right direction on which Battle Arms AR15 Safety Selector kit I should be looking at? I know that there is a BAD-ASS and a BAD-CASS with a crap load of different lever options? Please advise! |

I started with the CASS (I like the insurance of the dovetail interface) with 1 long and 1 short lever. Cool thing about BAD is that they will trade levers out for you should you not like it or just want to try something new. They don't even require you send in the old one or put any money up front, they're on the honor system. Pretty frickin' awesome of them. |

Differences between the BAD-ASS and BAD-CASS
We do have some BAD-CASS levers in FDE, since they're so few in numbers, we haven't listed them on our site yet. The BAD-ASS has 7 lever options and an end cap, the BAD-CASS only has 3 levers plus an end cap, we'll hopefully have ported all the levers to the BAD-CASS early next year
We only carry the BAD-ASS with three levers. AR15.com, Rainier Arms, Midwest Industries, Brownell's, etc., all carry them with 2 levers (many of them both the 3 lever and 2 lever kits), so you can save some money by getting the 2 lever kit

| Oh......and I also went with the 45 degree setup. I know it voided my warrantee, but I cut the pin off so I could use it in a non-45 lower. I understand the risks and with 100% certainty, know whether my weapon is on safe or fire. Spending years with my hands wrapped around the grip of an M4 has burnt that feel into my brain. |

SecretSquirell, the "lawyer pin" had to be there for folks that are new to shooting, haven't taken a training course, or not as safety conscious.
We don't look at the safety when shooting, we go by feel. Since the short throw selector's positions are largely unchanged (SAFE is still where it is, FIRE still requires a downward press), the vast majority of short throw selector users haven't found it difficult to transition to a 45 degree setup, and still use the skills and muscle memory they obtained from years of use and training
