maybe it is the pic but that lettering on the well looks very poor?

More pics for you to peruse. The shiny bit under the mag release was oil shining in light along with a few other places. I wiped some of it off.
Hate to break it to you, but you will scratch a lower the second you put a magazine in it. Many people scratch lowers being careless with roll pins and if you set it down on concrete you will scratch it. Ever set a rifle on a table to your right while firing something with erratic ejection? Scratches.
Scratches don't really bother me, but I would expect a new product to have a good finish. I would consider this a good finish. If you want to see rough finish/work, you should look at the AR18s that are available for purchase.
I'm all for calling out low quality things and saying when things have problems (remember how I had two BRN180s fall apart on me?) but just searching for something wrong is not something I do.
Mags fit well, cycles fine, no dragging, trigger holes and safety look to all be in spec. Picatinny on the end is good, pistol grip mount uses the grip to hold the rear pin detent in, seems to work fine just gotta be careful not to pinch the spring. I like the added simplicity of the rear rail instead of the KNS adapter, and the cut on the magwell is unique and the flare is effective in quick magazine seating.
