Tried running a DA Sandman S on the CM762 today. Way overgassed and caused constant malfunctions. Anyone get a can to run on their 901 or CM762 w/o having to change the gas block or use a Huxwrx can? |
| I had to make a custom reducer for the gas block in my LE901 to get it to run my Surefire RC2. I ended up with a .045” port. Only bad thing is it won’t run without the can unless I remove the gas block and take my reducer insert out, but I rarely shoot unsuppressed. If memory serves the stock port is .070” |

I've asked this similar question in the big tacked thread and had the same issue with a SiCo Hybrid because would not function reliably. I would need to test more with other .30 cans I have. A flow-through low back pressure design suppressor would likely work. Currently I do not have a solution & do not have the smithing skills to custom make anything for the gas port or block. I think a smaller diameter, proper length gas tube would be a good and easy solution to consider though. And ... also there is supposed to be a re-release of the Colt CM762-16S this year that I'm looking forward to. My only concern, as it is purported, is that this rifle will not have adjustable gas. Un-suppressed the rifle will run all day. |
