The ARC (American Rifle Company) M-brace scope mounts are each three piece with a single screw calling for a torque of 55 inch pounds, almost three times what you call out as a max torque. I have one I'd like to use. Comments? Also, I've seen people report that scope mount design with rings that split left/right instead of top/bottom can damage a scope. I'm curious if you have seen this. |
| We would suggest not exceeding 18in-lbs. Always follow the optic manufacturers torque recommendations as any over torque can damage your optic. If the optic is having issues staying in place in the rings at our recommended spec, then we'd suggest looking into a different mounting option. Rings that are vertically split shouldn't make a difference compared to horizontally split ones.
