Howdy Arfcom.
If you go to Brownells.com right now, you'll notice a bright yellow banner at the top of the page. There's a link in the yellow banner that will allow you to check out the NEW Brownells website. You can navigate between old site and new site, and anything you put in your cart should transfer between them, if you want to experiment. If you have comments or feedback about the new site, post a reply and I'll make sure the proper folks see them. Brownells |

Heck yeah ! The old site could be painful on a phone.
That cruises along great. Search is much much better. |
|
|
Love Brownells.- been loving it since the catalog days.
Looks like they have done a great job on the new website, I enjoy reading the AR15 forum and also enjoy watching Steve and Caleb on the YouTube channel, they do a great job on that. |

Not seeing the banner on laptop or phone. Using Brave browser on both. I'm assuming Brave and or my VPN is why I have to enable accessibility mode then refresh the screen several times to get the website to run correctly.

I like it way better. I use a 24" and a 30" monitor. When I am on the hunt for something, I like for it to fill my screen. Big words, big pictures. I like to see a page full of options. I like to see what I am looking for. See what I am researching. The old site only used 1/4th of a screen. The new site I can see so much more. Looks cleaner and better laid out. So far a PC user, its great. I wouldn't dare try to use a tiny 8" screen for shopping anyways.
Example: The old site, I could be looking for a bolt carrier group. Before I had 8 tiny postage stamp size pictures and tiny writing. Now I got 8 big pictures with large writing. I can sit back and see all the details on the BCGs and read all the writing just fine. This makes shopping a lot faster now for me. |
|
|
Nothing wrong with the old site but the damn drop-down ad that interrupted whatever you were trying to do when you first visited the site. All that effort into BS new site crap when in stock, correctly described, low price, and quality product is what everyone I know wants.

Tried logging in to my acct on the new site several times and it doesn’t recognize my info or send me emails to reset it. I’m honestly not surprised since there’s been several times I’ve logged in to my acct and gotten access to other accts.

I too, have been Brownelled. It wants me to change my password, but I can't get a verification email.
Good thing I placed an order yesterday. |

I'm with the others. I can't log in. My username and password don't work. I click to reset password, and I never get a verification code.
Any idea when this will get fixed? |

I was able to update my password and login. Order history is there.
Looks like the old schematics section is gone. |
|
|
I was able to login and reset but it was much more painful than it should have been. To start with the delay for sending the reset code was unusually long. the second issue was that I don't normally use Chrome. I tried Safari, Firefox and Brave. All failed when I entered the code it only worked after I switched to Chrome. I only keep Chrome on my computer for situations like this. Putting a change for logging in should have been preceded by an email warning about the change and outlining what the customer would need to do.

Sucks having to scroll all the way down a page to hit more then scroll down select a product to look at and when you hit the back you wind up at the top of the first item and have to scroll through the whole process again just to get back to where you were. You need to be able to click back to where you were in the scrolling process. Ruined the site just like Midway did a few years ago making it harder to find product, navigate, and find in stock information. It really looks pretty though.
The scroll down start back at the beginning is a flaw in some websites. Nice pics is all that might, and I mean might be missing from the old site. the old larger view worked fine on most items. Maybe the new site is more phone friendly? I don't know. What I do know it is more time consuming to navigate. It is really a time thing in my view that is wrong with the new site. It may look nice but takes more of my time to get to where I want to be or want to know. I really feel you are trying a reinvent thing. Anyone truly a regular customer using the old site should have been able to navigate it for easily available information. New customers are even more price conscious than old ones. Step up to demand. Make it easy for me to want to give you my business. I really get the "I'll be here forever trying to find something" when trying to navigate the new site. Search scroll scroll click scroll click scroll click scroll has replaced the old easy search, click, if available click and order. Where are the schematics? |
|
|
I still can’t get on the new site. What a joke. Their idiotic email confirmation code crap only takes an hour or two to come through and it still doesn’t work because it’s timed out.
I guess I’ll have to spend my money at Midway instead. |

Shit I can’t see a thing. Loads a blank page.....

@Brownells
Is Brownells getting out of the factory parts business? I'm not finding the schematics. Also, you once had a Weaver base chart identifying hole space, radius, etc. that was quite helpful for matching up optic bases for older firearms. Is that chart still available on the new site? |

UX with AJAX queries is a huge improvement. You guys definitely cleaned up your server side as well because it is all much faster.

Somehow I can still get on their mobile site with my phone, but I can't login or reset my password or anything on my PC. The whole verification code thing is a joke. I've tried at least 5 times and it never works. When I finally get the code (hour or more after I hit the send code button), I try the code and it rejects it.

I tried that whole cancer thing. It wasn't for me. Good Riddance.

Much better site and I even ordered something a few days ago. Now if your M1/M14 barrel vise would ever be back in stock!

I’ve been trying to log in since Wednesday to place an order. Haven’t been able to get my password reset. No email in my inbox, junk, etc.. Wasn’t urgent so I haven’t called to place the order. I used the chat option a couple of times without much luck. They were supposed to have an email sent to me within 24-36 hours for me to reset my password. I think the 36 hours would have been Sunday. My job requires me to do testing of business software so I just thought it would be fun to see how well their system was working. Might call soon because of course now I need one of the items.

Gotta bring back the new products page.
|
|
|
Getting my password and login switched was painful, I had to finally use chrome instead of firefox to do it.
Today is the renewal date of my edge membership, it doesn't show anything under Edge on my account and I can't find anything about it on the website to add to my cart and pay to renew it. I will call tomorrow, but frustrating that I couldn't do it online from my account. |

Had to use PC to get the code entered. Thanks for deleting everything in my Wish List . I remember MidwayUSA did the same when they upgraded their site. I didn't buy anything from them for a long time and still rarely do. I used the Wish List to make shipping worth it, when I couldn't remember what the wish list items were, I just bought the original item cheaper somewhere else. Looks like that will be the case with Brownells now too Not a single comment from Brownells, in 2-weeks, about all the issues users are having. |

Well I just used the new website for the first time it took multiple times for the shopping cart to finally recognize my account. And then it took a grand total of 8 minutes of spinning screens till I finally got to the submit my order button.
So far not impressed with the new website. With Brownells technological snafus over the last few years I don't know why they don't get somebody that knows what they're doing when it comes to making websites |

Just got off the phone with CS.
User names which include a "special character" are not allowed on the new site, and you will have to create a new account with your email address as your user name. Your new web sign-on "should" link with your old account and past orders for 3 years should be available. Unfortunately, your old wish list is lost. |

It would be nice to see pricing for multiple items on a product page without having to make selections for every individual item to see what the price is.
|
|
|
Still needs work for filtering on some pages. The scope rings page has filtering for diameter, finish, mount style and ring height. The scope mounts page is missing all of those.

thanks for the update

I did check it out and I closed my old account today. I may guest buy if the really odd thing or price comes up on something you have and I need but other than that thanks for the memories. I refuse the security risk of using an email as part of a log in to an account as has been mentioned is a new requirement. Also, I really think the negative outweigh any positive of the new site update.

couldn't log in, wouldn't send me an email. Had to create a new account, not a huge deal but doesn't give me much confidence in the new site.
Try harder Brownells. |

I can only see 3 years of my order history. Not a huge deal because I can get the info from my email. But, would be nice if I didn't have to that.
