I picked up one the 6940P's from Tennessee Armory but could not get a clear answer on who traded them in. I was looking around on GB and found a seller with one listed as being a dept trade-in from the DOE. The rack number looks exactly like the ones TN Armory was selling and is two digits off from mine. Any truth to the sellers' claims? |

Yes they’ve been confirmed to be DOE trade ins for a while now. The “Mid Tier Snobs - Don’t be poor v3.0” Facebook group has several posts on the TN Armory 6940p’s. I’m pretty sure the members of that group bought up most of them after a post I made got a lot of traffic. I purchased 2 myself. “The colt defense piston carbine, Serial number XXXX was a duty rifle used by the U.S department of Energy or an authorized affiliate in protection of the United States power grid or energy facility. The rifle was removed from service and traded in 2022.” |
