I have the enhanced BAD lower controls on one of my ARS. I have 15 ARs and several different bolt catches from Geissele to Colt. This is the only one with excessive play in it. Play is both side to side and up and down. It has enough play in it that I feel it is flawed because when I install a mil spec in same lower there is no play.

I was hoping to get a replacement, but when I emailed customer service about the issues I got the run around. When I run into issues with other companies like this, they usually say no worries we will take care of our customers and send out a replacement. This is $10 part. I am not not asking for free stuff, just to have a flawed part replaced or refund. The customer service made it sound there is no way it could possibly be the BAD bolt catch, when I know it is

Sir. We are in the middle of the SHOT SHOW crunch so some follow up could be delayed.  We would be happy to take care of this for you. Please email [email protected] and I will have someone get back to you.

Have you you already received a RMA form?  Please note that due to the larger size paddle, it is common for people to think that the enhanced bolt catch is moving more than it is vs a milspec bolt catch.

Don’t worry about it. After that exchange with customer service I have replaced all the BAD controls with Colt and tossed the BAD stuff in the parts bin.

Sir, I checked our service email and we had responded to you regarding the bolt catch.  We have no problem exchanging but our customer service team had to ask some basic questions so we know the source of the issue before we can address it.  The last email, presuming you're Nicolas, we asked you to double check the thickness of the bolt catch if you're able to.  You never responded to our email.  If the measurement comes in on the thick side of the casting tolerance and you are still experiencing play in your lower receiver, any replacements sent to you would be either the same or worse.  If your bolt catch thickness measures on the thin side then we may be able to find one thicker that may help tighten up the fit.

With investment castings, the mold dimensions are set, aside for the manufacturing tolerances of .010"-.015" there is no adjusting it.  We design them to have "Mil-Spec" dimension thickness.  If we couldn't help you with a replacement part we would have refunded your money.  If you don't communicate with us there isn't much we can do to help you.

Blindly replacing the part isn't going to do you any justice unless we know it is going to help solve your problem.  Our goal is to solve your problem.  We don't care about a $10 part.  It costs us more money in labor diagnosing the problem than the cost of the part so it is not about us trying to "save-a-buck" or trying to "pass-the-buck".  I think you got the wrong impression/intent of our customer service questions to you.
