Resurrecting this to see if anyone has had any luck getting a replacement video cable from Bering, or if a third-party substitute has been found. I emailed BO and received a response the next day telling me to go buy a generic USB cable off Amazon, but when I replied that I need the video output and not just a standard USB-C cable - no response. I’ve also tried calling, but it just keeps going to voicemail and leaving a message hasn’t worked either. I know the whole industry is slammed right now, but this should be a relatively simple request so I’m a bit surprised. Any good news out there? -Thanks! |

I got a similar response from Bering which wasn't very helpful. After trying a couple different cables with no luck I ended up finding one that works. The key is getting an actual USB-C cable with 22 wires in the core instead of the generic 4-wire cables that only support charging and basic data transfer. I haven't seen a sure way to tell from looking on Amazon which cables have the correct number of wires other than seeing if a particular cable supports 4K video and 20V 3A charging. I ended up buying this cable and can verify that it does have the correct number of wires and does pass the video signal but you will have to cut it open and solder an RCA connector to it if you want to use it as a replacement video cable. The video signal that is output from the Hogster appears to be an analog signal which makes it very unlikely that you will find an aftermarket cable with the same connector as the one included from Bering. |

Thanks for jumping in, and sorry to hear that you had a similar experience. It’s definitely an analog video out, but I wasn’t excited about trying to hack up a cable to try and get a working video output. Not very impressed with Bering Optics right now - I don’t expect them to drop everything and overnight me a cable, but it’s a bit frustrating to see the lack of support on a relatively pricey bit of kit. Was really hoping to get a cable and some footage over the holidays. I’ll keep trying and let you know if I get anywhere. |
