Does anyone have a good tip to duplicate Colt factory castle nut staking? - Outside of grinding down a punch, using a screw driver or buying the unobtainium H&K punch/stake tool? I got robbed of my factory staking - long story for another time. |

You could just send it to John Thomas at Retro Arms Works. He has the exact setup and jig to keep everything straight and stake it perfectly on any endplate. I For small jobs, he will often do it and ship it back on the same day he receives it. https://retroarmsworks.com/ |

I would prefer to avoid sending it off since it is a SBR. I know it can be shipped but I would rather take care of it in house if I could find a correct or similar tool. FCD used to make a stake-punch that was rectangle/square but apparently they changed the design. Colt did me so dirty I am beside myself. I may actually break my own rule and post a Youtube video about it. I will never purchase another Colt product again. |
