I purchased a silencer in mid-November.  I bought the can with the "free track" - in other words, bypassing the tax stamp and waiting until 1/1/26 to certify and file the Form 4.  With things going the way they did in Virginia, I decided later to purchase the tax stamp - their website and users online said it was easy to convert the "free track" to the "fast track," where they just apply the stamp to your order once you buy the stamp - you just need to contact Silencer Shop to ask them to switch your order status to get it moving, send the can to your dealer, and certify the Form 4.

Contacting a human being is impossible with this company now.  I have purchased six silencers from them since 2020, and I have never had issues like this before.  Earlier this week, I let the phone ring for two hours before giving up.  On subsequent attempts where I requested a callback (and was assured that I would be called back according to my place in line), my calls were not returned.  Emails sent before I decided to request the "fast track" were initially responded to by an AI chatbot, and now they are just disappearing into the void.

I don't understand what has happened to this company.  If the silencer isn't transferred to my dealer soon so that the Form 4 process can begin, my $200 for the tax stamp will be wasted.  I don't know what other recourse I have than to contact my credit card and request a chargeback.  If anyone else has any recent experience on how to get in touch with a human being at this company, I'm all ears.

Does your dealer answer the phone? He can contact his dealer rep and get that fixed before dark. I did that three times last week for customers who changed their mind just like you.

Take a deep breath and guess why the phone is busy. 87,000 people waited until now to buy a silencer.

Again, you aren't the only guy who changed his mind and needs attention. They'll get to you.

Its Donald Trumps fault.

You bought in "mid November" and its Silencer Shops fault it hasn't made it to your dealer? Surely you know ATF has to approve the Form 3 before SS can ship?
And no, your $200 tax stamp wont be wasted. If it doesn't get used, its refunded.

I appreciate your reply and will call my dealer tomorrow (this will be my first transfer with them, as my last one went out of business).

My main frustration is that the role of human beings has been greatly reduced in the customer service process.  The A.I. chatbot they use to respond to emails does not seem to be functioning properly.  Regardless, I'll see what my dealer can do.

Wait 'til a month from now.   I'm betting it's going to be a zoo and everything goes OOS in a hurry.

trobertson5-0 I wasn't put in jail for what I did. I was put in it for what I think. There were FBI agents posting in my threads. I've seen the discovery showing this.

If this was in reply to my last post, my dealer is closed on Sundays.

Update:  I talked with the NFA guy at my dealer today, and he said he had "maybe a slightly better chance" than I do of contacting a human at SS, but he will try to get my order status changed.  Must be an absolute shit show already.
