I just called to check on an order I place about a month ago (51937). The very nice lady indicated that the order is on indefite backorder. She said that they're waiting on the parts. She wouldn't give me an appropriate eta. Are things that crazy right now that suppliers can't tell manufacturers when they will have parts? Seems like if I own a business, and I make BCGs, I would have a schedule for what I plan to make, when, and who will get them. Just seems strange to not have any idea when you'll be able to provide a product your selling to the public. Will it be 6mo? 12mo? 4 years? Anyways... Don't mean to complain, I'm very thankful RRA still makes standard/clone A2s at a very reasonable price, I'm just impatient

Production control is different from Purchasing. Purchasing buys "stuff" ranging from quantities of raw steel to ready-to-install pins. Production control; has to, at least on paper and in the operting system, take whatever is purchased through multiple steps to get it to the point where it can be installed. Don't think of a carrier group as a singular unit that you just buy, unpack, slide into an upper and ship. Think of it as an 8120 steel machined componnent with a chromed bore (separate procedure) that has to be QCed several times. Think of it as a Carpenter 158 bolt that also has to undergo QC. Then start looking at all of the little parts...some purchased ready for use and some that have to ne made. Any one of those parts that fails QC, that is late from a vendor, that inventory is off....and there is no carrier group. In a perfect world, everything would match up and there wouldn't be any delays. but that doesn't just happen. Thaks. Steve/RRA |

Ya--as indicated--"Hang tough!" they will get you your goods. Not to worry. They make 'primo' stuff in my book. I have many of their fine rifles. They are flawless. Let me say this: "Its worth the wait!" |

Let me say this: "Its worth the wait!" Agreed. I shot a RRA NM when I did high power a few years back. It was a club rifle because I was too poor to buy one. When I decided to build an A2, RRA was top of my list. I know it's worth the wait, but that doesn't make the wait any easier... Especially when you don't know how long the wait is! |

My A2 uppers were delivered today. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. I'm absolutely thrilled with these uppers! They shoot great and look even better. Thank you for still offering this great piece of history for an excellent price! Total price for both complete uppers was $1020, $510/ea with free shipping. | It's all up the supply chain- the raw materials, the tools used to make them, the chemicals used to heat treat them, etc. Each shortage has a knock- on effect that multiplies the delay. Be thankful that you're not asking for something with a computer chip in it. |
