Hi, can anyone help me identify if this rail is genuine? I recently bought it from a guy here in europe, it's semi beat up as he was at least the second user of it. The lower portion of the "delta ring" was grinded in a 45 degrees angel, I think it wasn't working properly with someones lower or upper and it has some glue residue from some kind of pressure switch. It's in fde but it's quite dark. You can see all the markings on the photos, it has the two notches on the front of the upper rail and similar notches are on the front and back of the lower rail. I'm waiting for the barrel nut as the seller forgot to send it to me... The lower rail mounting screws have the teflon washers but are in a very bad shape and they are off center, it should be visible in the photos that the screw driver cut is not in the center of some of those screws - i saw similar off center screws on some airsoft DD rails.

| I'm not an expert, but it looks real to me. 4th pic down shows two areas in the left and right side of the channel for the gas block and gas tube. There are two areas missing anodizing which is very common on real ris ii rails which to me is a good indicator it's real. |

In the 4th pic at the very front if the rail you will see two shiny areas showing bare aluminum. Those are common areas for real ris ii rails to be missing anodizing I believe due to the way they hang when they are anodized. Every one of my real ris ii rails has those two bare marks. I wouldn't suggest using a fake handguard on a real gun, but that's just me. |

| I also don't want to use a knockoff on my real gun, that's the whole point of this thread ;) Because of the gas block residue we can be 100% sure the rail was used on a real rifle but is that also a dead giveaway that the rail is real, like couldn't a knockoff rail be used on a real gun? The whole rail looks and feels like a real rail, the markings on the front, as You mentioned, also indicate that it's a real rail but those screws that hold together the upper and lower heave misaligned slots, something i have seen on airsoft rails and not on real steel ones, so that's a bit concerning. The lower part also doesn't heave the violet coloring on the threads, but judging from the screws they were unscrewed at least a couple of times, so could the violet coloring wear off? |

You can email DD pics, but they probably won’t be able to 100% tell you unless you send them the rail. I think the weight might be a way to tell on your own. https://danieldefense.com/counterfeit-information I was scammed several years ago on eBay with an Airsoft MK18 rail sold as the real thing. This was when DD pulled them from the market to fill government contracts, so I definitely paid more. The rail didn’t have the hole cut out for the gas tube in the bolt-up plate. The seller basically ghosted me but had good feedback and eBay/PayPal weren’t helping. I contacted DD and they went above and beyond. The customer service rep asked for whatever contact info I had and said they’d pass it to their legal team. The representative was also able to sell me a MK18 blem rail for a great price. A few days later I received a refund and return label from the seller blaming their son for the mistake and they were so sorry blah blah, and to let anyone from DD that might contact me know I had been refunded  . I’d really like to know what they told that person to scare them into giving me a refund.
