Just finally finished what I'm calling my "super RECCE".
It's started life as an 18"/13.2 SS Stealth upper and I was lucky enough to order when the SMOS/LT lowers were being offered for sale in 2008. I knew it was meant to be when the serial number was the same number had been playing in the UHFO contest. It wore heavy NF NXS 3.5-15x50 glass. Soon after LT started offering the barrels in black melonite and making them in house. Before I got a chance to shoot it, we decided to buy a house so I sold the NF NXS and LT STEALTH at a profit to have money for moving expenses. This gave me the opportunity to get the upper I wanted and different optics. Or so I thought. Earlier this year (6 years later), I *FINALLY* got the new upper and the lower was done being lonely. I purchase an NXS 1-4x in LT104 and shortly after was in a motorcycle accident... Well tonight I finally got the scope all mounted up and everything ready to go. Finally after 7 years, I'm looking forward to shooting it... 
Specs: LT Lower WOA LPK w/ ambi safety Geissele Hi-Speed tuned to about 3# with very short reset Magpul UBR / MIAD LT Stealth Upper 16/13.2 Nightforce NXS 1-4x Surefire SOCOM MB556 Surefire M600 Ultra Scout Troy BUIS PRI Gas Buster LT/Harris Bipod BCM gunfighter angled short VFG Now even more waiting for my SOT to get the Surefire SOCOM556-RC2 in stock and then the ATF to process my form 4... Ugh

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

That looks good. I wish LaRue would start doing a run of lowers again. I am getting ready to start another build with the LT 18" stealth barrel kit I recently won and I would have liked to use LT upper and lower receivers for the build. Unfortunately, I will end up using a different receiver set. I did build a LaRue Recce back in 2009 when they first introduced their billet lower and the UDE furniture set. I wish I still had it. It was a fantastic AR.

Wow, after 7 years, a move and bike accident you have inspired me to wait and hopefully it will not be 7 years, on a LT LOWER. No exceptions. I have the ptar bbl, LT upper, and everything else LT has to finish my Super Lightweight Hybrid P' Tar except the lower. And what I did not get from LT it was top shelf. .
I will put up the albeit a fine lower for a future project and wait. I hand it to you for your patience, I am motivated to do it all LT or not at all. At least the important parts and major bones of my LT SLHP, super lightweight hybrid Predatar. Your patience has paid off, great looking Super Recce hellbound. |

Holy necro post batman... I just got my account back after a long hiatus and found this lurking in "My Topics". This gun got shelved (again). I got into suppressors and other quiet projects (9mm, 300BLK) and then HAM radio, bought a house, had kids, etc, etc. Life comes at you fast... I'm finally checking gun projects off my list that grew exponentially since 2020. I modernized my "super RECCE" this week   Larue Stealth 2.0 monolithic mlok upper set Magpul UBR 2.0 and other stuff in Stealth Gray of course Magpul MBUS pro Leupold Patrol 6HD in LT104 Radian Raptor/Talon Gray Surefire SOCOM 556 I'm actually planning to shoot the stupid thing tomorrow. finally...  Also here's some of my other subgun projects..  QC10 9mm  Kriss Vector 45 (factory SBR) (now has an Osprey 45 and a Vortex UH1) |
