Noticed yall dropped this today. TFB article MK9 My question is. Will CMMG be selling a RDBB bolt and barrel kit for COLT style lowers? I have a Registered SBR 9mm lower (standard ar type) that I am using a Colt mag block with. I am heavily invested in colt mags but really want a RDBB CMMG upper. Will this system work for me? Or only the CMMG designed COLT lower? |
| As someone with an SBR'd CMMG MK9 lower, I am anxiously awaiting for the parts kits to drop as well. |

Trying to deduce what I can from their different website landing pages (all of the upper receiver group landing pages are broken if you search for MK9), I *think* that if you have an older MK9 lower, you would need the conversion kit for the lower AND a new BCG at minimum, for which I can't find a landing page on their website. But the TFB article says: "The fixed ejector has also been done away with as the radial delayed blowback bolt has a plunger ejector". When you look at the graphic on the TFB article, it says "Uses standard CMMG MKGS 9MM upper group". Combine that info with the information on the landing page for the lower parts and here's how I interpret the requirements: 1: Newer CMMG 9MM barrel "Barrels that are stamped “9mm Luger” will be compatible with an upgraded Mk9 lower receiver. If your barrel is marked “9x19 NATO”, you will need to purchase a new 9mm barrel in order to ensure reliable function." 2: Specific RDB BCG: THIS IS WHAT I CAN'T FIND 3: Lower parts kit that includes mag catch, bolt catch, carbine buffer assembly, carbine action spring, feed ramp. I assume they will offer a barrel/bcg package like they do for the other 9MM platforms, but it is not available yet. Or it is and they just need to update their site saying that it will work. |

As long as they make a bolt and barrel kit that can work with the below mag adapter ill be super happy. https://www.ghostrifles.com/ghost-firearms-9mm-adapter-drop-in-mag-block/ |

So as I was typing the last response I missed something. The MKGS is the GLOCK upper group, which is what the graphic on TFB says the new MK9 uses. So if the MKGS upper group is what it uses, that means the same barrel/bcg combos that have been on sale for a while are what we'd use. It'd be nice for CMMG to clarify and confirm this, as it means all of the uppers and components they already have listed would work. |

I wonder what the difference is between the conversion kits in regards to magazine being used. ASC/CPD or Colt/Metalform as I have both. I would also like some clarification from CMMG as to which of their complete uppers are GTG. |

I bought ASC mags, 20 rounders, at the recommendation of others who had them work. They were more picky than the Colts/Metalform. I finally broke down last fall and got 20 round metalforms. I was having feed issues with certain higher grain ammo with flatter noses in mine. I am curious to see this new feed ramp and might even try to run it without the other conversion pieces before I change my uppers, just for my information. |

The mag choices that I’m aware of are: (1) C-Products Duramag, (2) ASC Stainless Steel, and (3) Brownell’s Xylan coated. I ordered a 3-pack of the Duramags because that’s what was on the CMMG website. Given the different materials, coating, and feed ramp geometries of the three different mags, I’m very interested to know what really works- I want red the Duramags because I figure CMMG to sell what works with their own product, but I’m very interested in educated experiences. |

Welp just got my email from CMMG that my lower conversion parts have shipped. Still need to know if this shit is going to work with the Glock style uppers. Good news is, a buddy has the Banshee 9MM Glock pistol, so I could convert the lower and throw his upper on and test it. |

No idea of what that involved though. |

Can somebody explain like I'm 5 exactly what they are changing? I have a CMMG RDB barrel and bolt in my own upper on a standard lower using CMMG magazine conversion kits for PMAGS I also have a Hahn mag block and a stash of Colt SMG mags left over from my old blowback 9mm. I mildly regret switching to the CMMG RDB because the magblock/mags sit too high in the receiver to work with the RDB upper. Is CMMG changing something that will make RDB uppers compatible with "standard" Colt SMG 9mm mag blocks and mags? |
| Well this is good news. I originally held off on RDB because i was stubborn and wanted to use colt mags easily, but thankfully now it seems that it works. So that makes it harder, do i go with the 5.7 like i planned or jump to the 9mm that an ep9 was gonna fill. |

I think the gist of it is that the feed ramp of a normal Colt-mag setup, be it on a mag block or a dedicated lower, will need to be changed. |
