Mike,
Any chance of seeing complete assembled lowers for sale or at least complete assembled lowers, minus furniture? |

@mike_nds
I saw your post about using up the remaining stock of NDS uppers for testing and whatnot. After you run through those, do you plan on doing a run of 605s at some point, or were those too boutique to bother with, at least until you get the others to market and the brand moreestablished? (I'm sure I'll have plenty of competition, from the others here but I'll happily buy a 605 blem for a build I've had on backburner for a while) |

Any plans to license production of the BRN-10 Receivers from Brownell's like what they did with the NDS receivers or just outright buy the forgings from them, since they seem to be pulling out of the retro stuff?

View Quote As far as I know the BRN-10 was a billet upper and lower. Not trying to be snarky, but if it wasn't profitable enough for Brownells to continue, why would I want to make them? A better approach would be to get a thread going in their industry forum and do a group buy for receiver sets. |

Mike,
Any progress update for this week? Do you think that sometime this month, you will have something up for us to purchase? You have alot on your plate in getting this project up and going. I like to many others want to buy. Will H&R or PSA be selling the A1 furniture from Brownells or have you found your own supplier for new production A1 furniture? Basically, that is your only choice in furniture or buy the original USGI stuff. |
|
|
Mike,
I read through the entire thread. one quick question. The 100 uppers are mostly blems of various types. Are the lowers going to be that way as well for the first 100 sent out? Or are those new production lowers? Like you said these batches are going to sell out very fast. Is full production of the uppers and lowers be limited to 100 at a time for anodizing? There is going to a very high demand for your products. I am sure you planned for that accordingly? My bank account is going to be hurting for the forseeable future! |

View Quote Just expanding on this question… I (as well as a few others out there, I'm sure) have every part lined up for a full M16A1 build except for receivers. I know you are probably tired of getting hounded with availability questions, but do you have any idea what near-future availability will be like after full production is rolling? In other words, do you think we need to be sitting at our computers sweating whenever a batch hits the market, or will production get to a steady point where anyone who wants one will be able to get one? Or, better yet, will there be an opportunity to back order so we can be guaranteed product? Again, I’m sure these questions are difficult to answer, but thank you for being so open to this community. I’m sure I’m not the only one stressing out over wanting to make sure they get to buy your products lol! |

All the lowers being sent out this week are new production H&R marked M16A1's. The uppers are the leftover NDS stuff.
I don't have any of the new uppers going out yet as I just got first article samples this morning. There are a few things we need to tweak. I have no way to forecast what the actual rate of sales will be. The retro crowd is very vocal, but that doesn't always translate into sales in my experience. 200 receivers a week may be plenty after the initial rush is over. We'll see. Initial production will be M16A1 lowers, 603 and 604 uppers. Then we will get into some of the variant lowers and uppers this fall. |

In regards to the stock sets.
We have a small amount of Brownells handguards and grips. No buttstocks. I'm getting quotes to have a skinny CAR handguard and Type E trapdoor butt made. We currently have CAR N1 type stocks and 2 position tubes going out for gray ano. We have correct CAR lock rings also. |

As I’ve posted before, we will have static product pages on the H&R website with nav buttons to the PSA shopping cart for purchasing.

One ordering question for you. The 1st batch of uppers and lowers will vanish quickly. That is a given. Will customers be able to place and pay for backorders of the lower receivers if you're not fast enough to be in the first 100-receiver order group? |

Mike,
When you do think you will get the products that you are offering up on the website? I am sure you are getting tried of all the questions from people. Getting retro type parts and rifles are diffcult to find these days. H&R is going to it. I do have one suggestion on the Type E buttstock you want to have made, make a quality one over the cheap ones that have been on the market in the past. There is a market for quality furniture for m16 and A1 rifles and carbines. |

Mike is there any lowers coming up soon we got an awb coming up fast and would like to get one before that passes

At the show today, @HenryKnoxFineBooks and I saw a mixmaster - an H&R A1 engraved but non-reprofiled lower, Model 1 Sales M4 bbl w/ shorty A1 handguards, an A2 stock w/ the National Match lead weights inside, and a Nodak Spud upper.
I wanted to put it out of its misery, but there were so many parts I didn't need, it didn't make sense to buy it. |

I second this. I would gladly pre-order, even at full price if it meant I was guaranteed a set of receivers. |

View Quote The tragedy was someone put a great deal of effort into getting the H&R logo and WORCESTER, MASS. on the FCG side just to put that on a current lower - it would have been spot on with an A1 lower - even better looking than we are going to get with CLOUMBIA, SC marked lowers. That is why the retro market is so tough, some customers will take anything that looks close enough and others demand as perfect as possible, if not even more perfect and continuously raise the bar of the possible. |

Not going to have people screaming at me because the machine shop, anodizer, or heat treater jacks up the quoted time table. |

do you plan on offering a1 profile 80% lowers?

Will stripped receivers be a thing? Specifically, I've got a colt SMG parts kit, and an "M16A1" in need of correct lowers. Correct as possible anyway. Sorry if that's already been asked. |

Yes, stripped receivers will be the main line.
