Having said that, I have two different 6940 wrenches with different lengths heads on them and neither one is long enough to tighten the barrel nut down all of the way. I'm on the hunt for the required barrel wrench now. |

| When it comes to Ambi controls, as a right-handed shooter, I would really only benefit from a right side Bolt catch, exactly what Colt didn't give us with the Gen 1 version. Instead we get right side bolt release. I have been able to modify mine similar to the Gen 2 for that feature. Why on earth Colt didn't give us that feature in the beginning defies logic, typical Colt. It makes sense now why Colt put the texturing on the newer Gen 2 version paddle. |

I picked up another M5 today from a LGS. It has the 2nd Generation Bolt and Release catch that works both Catch and release where my other rifle is Bolt release only. First new Colt or any rifle I bought since August of last year. Real stoked to have 2 M5s in my collection.  |

| Any updates on the M5? How does everyone like theirs now? Arms Unlimited has them for $1299 now. They seem to not be selling well at all, any chance these get discontinued? I want one but would like some updated info from everyone since they’ve been out a couple years now. |

It seems that the M5 has already sold more units worldwide than the Colt Monolithic. I'm confident that Colt will continue to sell the M5 for at least 10 years. |
