Why so high?
I ship stuff on a daily basis, and I don’t understand why the shipping charges are so damn high?
For instance, I purchased a hammer hook file. $17.00 in shipping.
Today I was going to order a .020 shim. Less than an ounce. Again, $17.00 for shipping for something that can be put into an envelope.
So I called to order over the phone. I got the price down to $10.00 for shipping, but generic at 5 to 7 days. This could have been shipped in a small flat rate box for less, or even a bubble mailer for less.
Is it to make up for the discounts? Because these exorbitant shipping fees are ridiculous. I just shipped a rifle clear across the country via UPS for $24.00. Brownells price probably would have been $70.00
So why the high costs? I don’t order from Brownells often due to the shipping costs, as many other vendors have the same items, usually cheaper, and lower shipping costs, but once in a while, Brownells can unfortunately be the only option.
I’ve been meaning to bring this up for quite sometime, but today was enough. $10 to ship a .020 single feeler gauge. If that isn’t a ripoff, I don’t know what is.
