I'll start it! This one started out life as an Entry Tactical model. I just had the barrel cut to 10", and added a Magpul MIAD & CTR, Samson MRFS, Noveske KFH, A.R.M.S. #40L rear and Samson flip up front sights, Aimpoint ML2 in an A.R.M.S. mount.  This one I built and  RRA upper, lower & all internals RRA 2 stage trigger Samson MRFS-R Magpul MIAD & PRS Leupold 3-9x36mm MR/T Larue SPR mount A.R.M.S. bipod adapter & Harris bipod Denny's (GTS) 16" match stainless WOA barrel & matched bolt Smith Vortex FH |

I've got two RRA ARs; my first was an RRA Elite CAR A4 (Feb '06) and my second is an A4 (Apr '08). Both have CL barrels and have been problem free. I've got almost 8K rds through my middy and almost 2K rds through my A4. I reload and have had a ball tuning loads for each one. I'm somewhat 'old school' so I've kept them fairly plain but scoped (a concession to my 61 year old eyes). The current configuration of my middy includes an ADCO re-profiled lightweight barrel, shortened to 14.7" and pinned FH, 3x9 quick disconnect scope, Troy buis, and CTR. It weighs in at 7lbs 15oz as shown w/o ammo. To ADCO's credit, it is still very accurate out past 200yds and it now weighs 2½. lbs less than it did before. Previously, I had an EOTech on it but found that my old eyes just couldn't make out the targets at 100yds well enough to shoot accurately at them so I sold it and got the scope.  My second RRA is my A4 with the 3x12x44 scope I had previously on my middy. I use it now for long range shooting (300+ yds) and the occasional P-dog. I find that this one loves 68grn Hornady BTHPs. Hitting a tennis ball at 300-350yds is child's play with this beauty. It weighs 10lbs 7oz as pictured w/o ammo and is solid as a rock shooting off of bags (as I do hunting). I've thumped a P-dog at a laser verified range of 387yds with it (however, in truth there was no wind and that's at the limit of my ability).  |

This is me in my set up time during a 300 yard Palma shoot. I was the only one in the F class shooting a semi-auto, off the shelf unmodified rifle with match ammo. I shot a 592.021 out of 600 on a MR-63 NRA target. If I had thown one more click of windage to the right I would have hit several more bulls, hindsight is always 20/20. Just brought it home today!! Edit to add===> It is an Elite CAR A4, I took off the tactical carry handle and front sight, and put on a Leupold CQ/T. I'm gonna get some BUIS for it, don't worry!!!!  |

The receiver fit is excellent and the assembly was very smooth, great high quality parts. Specs: All RRA components except Hahn top loading block, duckbill grip, Colt carry handle sight, ACE M4 SOCOM buttstock and Colt mag. Thanks to the RRA team which are very helpful, great communications and fast shippers, I got my upper half, bolt, hammer, LPK and buffer from them. My stripped lower and Colt mag was from Eagle Firearms industry partner which are great sellers at the EE. My Hahn mag block was from Brownells and ACE buttstock was from Del-Ton both pretty good sellers. |

I present an RRA M-16A1 Semi Auto USGI Colt M-16A1 Upper, Teardrop Forward Assist  RRA Lower/Internals, refinished Colt Grey by U-S Anodizing to match USGI Upper.  Shoots great, though the stock RRA trigger could be upgraded to their 2 stage very easily. I'll keep the regular trigger pull to stay in the Retro USGI spirit for now. If RRA ever made one of these, would anyone else want one? Enjoy! |
