I seem to remember a thread on here a couple years ago where ADCO installed some QD muzzle devices with crush washers instead of shims and they did a bunch of measurements that basically showed the whole "crush washers cause suppressor misalignment leading to strikes" argument was basically bullshit/myth/whatever Does anyone have that thread? |

@bigbore wasn't this in response to a lengthy thread discussing the topic of crush washers with QD muzzle devices? Also would you still use something like Rocksett or Hot Lock on the threads when mounting with a crush washer? My understanding is the crush washer will provide additional "hold" (I'm not a machinist I don't know the term) from the muzzle device unscrewing when unmounting a suppressor. |

Proper torque keeps the muzzle device from unscrewing when you remove the suppressor. A crush washer is just to time the muzzle device, not hod it in place. Glue is an extra, I personally almost never use it. |

Similar to how you might use a rubber or split ring washer to prevent nuts from vibrating loose on threaded rods. |
