After using my DMR to deer hunt with and shoot a bit the standard FSB seemed to be an issue. The solution was to use a 11.0 gooseneck rail from a different upper, get a lo pro gasblock and get to wrenchin'.
I strongly advise anyone thinking of doing the same to NOT DO IT! Those fine folks at LaRue know how to build an upper. One of the best ways to see how good something is built is to take it apart and I swear I will never do this again. Anyway here are the old DMR and in it's new config. Old style

The UBR helps balance out the suppressor nicely. I changed out the X300 for one on a LT mount with tape switch back panel and now run it on the right side. All I need now is some MBUS and I'll call this one done. The 11.0 gooseneck was spending a little time on my dedicated .22LR upper until the parts came in to swap with the DMR. It didn't look quite right to me and I much prefer the new look with the 9.0 rail that came off the DMR. Old style

Hey all, I'm new here, and I posted this in the BCM Upper thread, but I figure there's enough LT gear to earn a spot here as well. Someday there will be a Stealth upper (and maybe lower) to go with all this as well. Apologies for the Vltor stock, given recent events. It does feel nice, though.  I'd be happy to replace it with an ACS if anyone wants to donate one when they come out...   |

Thanks, they are Butler Creek Multiflex covers, notice yellow tabs instead of red. For the 3-9x Accupoint you'll need, and this is off the Butler creek labels: Eye: 13&14 1.570-1.605" 39.9-40.8mm Objective: 25,25,&27 1.800-1.840" 45.7-46.7mm |

In my excitement to hear what schwag came with it I had my mom open it for me. I was delighted to hear I got a dillo, hat, bumper sticker, and the coveted dillo dust. Also included in the package was the LaRue 7.0 Rail, which was my order. I was quite impressed with it just looking at it. After hearing people constantly claiming how good your products were I had to find out for myself as I needed a rail. I had it installed on my AR this morning at my local gunshop while I helped. Installation was fairly simple and after seeing it done I am sure I could do it myself given the proper tools. I must say that your product lives up to the expectations I had for it, if not exceeding them. In the future you can expect an order for an ACOG mount from me. Thank you for a great product and the cool freebies to go along with it. The dillo is attached to my car keys so I will never be without tactical support. I can't wait to actually cook with the dillo dust. Thanks again for everything you have made another customer for future AR purchases. I'll be sure to recommend you to my friends. |
