I purchased a Daniel Defense lower receiver group and picked up from my FFL.  The next day I noticed the threads on the buffer tube are broken off under the castle nut(pictured below). It looks like whoever attached the castle nut just gorilla'd it on and broke some of the threading in the process

Additionally the bolt release on my unit is a mil-spec style, but the images for the lower show the square improved style bolt catch.  Discouraged by what I received I figured I would reach out to their support to see what they have to say.  I've tried calling support and I keep getting dumped to a "No messages may be taken for this mailbox" and the call terminates.

I tried using the contact us feature on the website, but it seems to be a black hole.  Is there a way to reach DD?

I was able to get a hold of someone on the phone today.  At first he seemed dismissive of my claims that the threading in that spot was broken, perhaps thinking it was light marring. Call me crazy, but for a $500+ lower as a customer I don't think the threads on the buffer tube should be damaged.

He took down my information and said I would have to send it in.  However I did not receive any further instruction on where to send it.
Is this normal?  Do I just send it to your mailing address?

Whoever you spoke with most likely initiated a warranty claim for you.  You'll receive a UPS return shipping label from our warrant team so you can ship it back at no charge to you.  We'll get you taken care of, man.

I asked about that on the phone, the guy said that they were going to stop offering the DD bolt catch due to some breaking and go back to milspec.  I just left mine milspec.

That kinda sucks, I see people complaining that they can’t lock the bolt back quickly with the smaller Mil-Spec catch. Hopefully they get it figured out.
