Some of the older non-ribbed carbine stocks that I've seen recently don't have the " 1 N " marks. They seem to be identical to 1 N stocks in all other ways, like the buttplate checkering, the shape of the top sling loop where it meets the stock body, and the look and feel of the plastic. Did Colt ship some without the 1 N, or did someone replace the stocks on these older Colt police surplus Gov't Carbines that I am looking at? |

Yes, from what I've read in previous discussions. I think you'll notice the similarities (or differences) when doing a detailed comparison.
