In a hurry to get it done and unable to find a local smith without a huge backlog of work, I installed the quad rail on my LAR-8 standard myself. I followed the instructions but still had to remove the gas tube (and rolled pin) from the gas block to get it all back together.
I believe I have it all done correctly, but I was wondering what would be the worst I could expect if the gas tube was “off” somehow? Would the weapon simply not cycle? Is there a possibility of a barrel or receiver explosion? Since the barrel is free and clear, my assumption is that (at worst) I will fire a round and there will be no blowback to eject and chamber the next round.
Thoughts? First range day is tomorrow and I was hoping for some reassurances from more experienced folks.
Thanks!
