There were two PVS-14 arms for using a single PVS-14 with a G24 or G22E that are now discontinued and this new arm replaces both.
Original arm let's call it arm#1 was just like this new one except it was straight. It didn't have cant like the USGI j-arm. Mainly retail users complained that they couldn't get the PVS-14 close enough to their eye.
Wilcox then made arm#2 that added cant similar to the USGI j-arm and they also added a switch that was intended to turn off the -14 when pushing the G24s button to stow it. This switch function reliability was shall we say "iffy". Folks bought this arm for the cant which allowed the -14 to get closer to the user's eye.
The new arm has the cant and no switch.
ETA: Wilcox still have a PVS-14 arm with a switch but it is only compatible with the Wilcox binocular bridge. It will not work on a G24 alone. DO NOT get this arm unless you are using it with the Wilcox bridge.
