Threw the dice on the UV-82. Have some 888s and the UV-B5 which work for their purposes. Wish the chargers for the 888s were 12V in though instead of 120V.

I got two UV-5R, they work great. I'm thinking to buy some more since they are dirt cheap. So far they standup to moderate outdoor weather. If they break, I got another one to take its place.
I use CHIRP for easy programing or get the settings from someone else. |

I hit it for $7.45 with free shipping.......we shall see what happens.....I will donate mine to my radio club if they come in we have a tech class for new hams and I'm sure someone will put them to good use ..... |
|
Hit it.
I was licensed 1997-2007 and let it lapse. Now, thanks to Arfcom and cheap Chinese radios, I might be getting sucked right back in again. Thanks for costing me extraordinarily small amounts of money, Arfcom. |

If you read the description carefully things get a bit confusing So is this 2 radios or 40? Package Include: 20 sets 1 set includes: 2 x BaoFeng UV-5R (VHF136-174MHz / UHF 400-520MHz) Two-Way Radio 2 x 7.4V 1800mAh Li-ion Battery Pack 2 x Antenna 136-174/400-520Mhz 2 x Earphone Mic/Headset 2 x Belt Clip 2 x Hand Strap 2 x ENG Manual 2 x adapter 2 x Desktop Charger ( 100V ~ 240V )(EU PLUG) |

Ordered a pair. Plan on getting my license this year so this will give me a reason to speed up the process. If they don't ship no big deal. Btw, when I ordered eBay said there was 8 left with 104 sold in the last hour. The power of arfcom strikes again.

I've been fairly outspoken (by my standards, anyway) about my disdain for these radios' spectral purity, but for $8, I'll buy a pair and test them myself. We've got a well outfitted RF lab at work so I'll be able to get some real results with pretty graphs and specan screenshots to back up my rants... or I'll have to eat my words
If they fail, well, I'll use them to break in my first AR15 build when that's finished (it's in the "pile-o'-boxes stage" right now). If they pass, I'll gift them to new hams in my area. |

Been a long time since I've been active on 2 meters so I've got to try one of these for this price.
Lots of confusions over which programming cable is reliable with the UV5R. Any advice would be appreciated. |

In my eyes the issues with the programming cables stem from the usb to serial chip that is in them. Most cheap makers use counterfeit chips and the newer drivers will not recognize them. You can manually install the old (2007 IIRC) driver and those should work.
So I think you have several options:
ETA - This should be a good cable.

If you get any of these radios, be sure and get this antenna: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=3&campId=5337559805&toolId=10001&customId=izx7fszf8g00zk8a00004&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F520Mhz-SMA-F-Antenna-For-Baofeng-UV-5R-UV-5RA-B-C-D-E-A-E-UV-B5-UV-B6-Radios-%2F182209335633%3Fhash%3Ditem2a6c85d151:g:eKcAAOSwMsVXjDfa
These are actually a pretty decent antenna and small enough to be manageable. The one that comes with them is a notch above a dummy load. |

I got the same email. That is a first for me. In all the time I have dealt with eBay I've never seen that. I don't think that bodes well for us. Oh well. If they show great if not no big deal either.

I got the same email, but it sounds like there is a chance the items may come. We'll see.

Got the same email. This was in my purchase history:
Estimated delivery Wed, Mar 15 - Wed, Mar 29We had to remove this listing from the site and you're not required to complete the transaction. After checking, Ebay says you can't file a claim until after the projected delivery date. And it also says seller has been removed from Ebay. Let's face it, we ain't gonna get this shipment. I'd be interested in knowing if there is another way to file if the item (and seller) have been removed. Glad this is only seven bucks.

When I ordered the radios I bought 3 replacement antennae for them (three because I typo'd it and at ~$2/per i figured I'd keep it for an extra). I got the notification for no radios, but the antennae shipped.
I suppose I've now got 3 extra antennae for my existing UV-5R. -bob |

The seller was so shady that we had to remove him - But we're SURE he'll still send you your order!

Is there some magic way to get my paypal $ back right now? eBay makes me file a claim. Cant find anything on PP's website, other than, "handle it through eBay".

I opened a case with eBay. I didn't ask for a refund. I stated that I wanted the radios. eBay did get in contact with the seller. I don't know what the seller told eBay. But eBay issued me a refund.

|
|
no refund yet, but I did get a message saying that seller was no longer a member at ebay.
|

Refund here as well. Can eat tonight
And I'm past the fake Nagoya antennas. Got a pair here that are not nearly as good as the real deal. |
|
|
Just called ebay and got my refund started. That would have been a smoking deal. But much like everything else when the deal looks to good to be true...well you know
|
|
So no one has received anything? If not, I'll start the process.
