In a 45 LC lever? Am I going to get enough penetration? These are loaded to Ruger standards, not cowboy loads.

For whitetail deer, most HP's work no problems.
For punching through the side gristle armor on a boar I recommend swift A-frame or some type of hard cast flat-point bullet for the needed penetration.

I've been checking midsouth and midway for 45 soft points but no joy. I have some XTPs with the poly tip but they do not have a canulure so I'm a little leary about using them in a lever and getting compressed. I have some 300 grains HPs too but I need to try those in the Henry, I hear a lot of people having feeding issues with the longer cartridge.
