Mine is a ground mounted 18 foot tall vertical fed by my NYE Viking MB5 A tuner. Have 3 radials but adding more today. Radials are a minimum of 34 feet long. New ground rod at base also. Was up years ago but loaned to a new ham in an apartment. Glad to have it back. |

Since @Lorazepam hasn't been on the net lately, here is my take on his report: Band was a little up and down. At 8:14 pm ET a POTA station started on 7.218, and was bleeding over a fair amount, he was out of VA. Chris in IL, 59, Net Control Fred in OH, 59 Dave in TN, 59 (he is only about 30 miles from me) Gerard in PA, 58 Bob in MA, 59+ Matt in Allegheny State Park, portable, 58 Jeff in WI, 59 Jeff in IL, 59+ Paul in IN, 59+ Jason in OH, 59 Last check in, 49 Tonight was a fairly good night. I didn't get a chance to erect any additional antennas tonight. It was mentioned tonight about doing a 20M prenet. If anyone wants to do that, I am able and willing to try, let me know. |
Longer warmer days has me outside a lot more and I lost track of time. Last week, the holiday screwed up my days.  I had always hoped others would do the same as I do, and let everyone else know how well they are being heard. I thought it was kind of the point of the net. I am going to try going portable again some weeks. |

Plus I kept checking on the WRC to make sure I didn't need to don a rain suit and go pull it down! |

Finally got my account back (thanks TJ). That was my first contact ever, so thanks for being a part of it. I went from Tech for 13 years (with zero interest) and wanted to finally buy a radio, so I bought a 891 in March. I realized that I was limited with my license, so I took the General test in April and studied 2 more weeks for the Extra in May. I took it out of the box this past Saturday for the first time and it was pretty neat listening to people on the museum ships. Regardless, other than focusing on remembering my call sign it was nice to make my first contact with this bunch! |

You're close enough to the 10M gang around here that you can easily work all of us. 28.337 practically all the time. Many of us shoot, while others simply shoot their mouths off. AT-140 or AH-4 tied to a Zero Five vertical with at least 16 radials. Or a 6BTV with similar radial count, run with the radio's internal tuner - though my preference would be an external unit. |

But, the antenna wire was tough enough that it messed up the pipe/bracket going through the roof and into the attic. I fixed that yesterday. I still need to get on the roof to check/redo connections, and hang the downed antenna leg. I met Jeff for lunch today, and he generously gave me a mast setup. Thanks again Jeff. Antenna repair has been going slow with weather and work. |
