| No direct news link. Miss Janet posted the guy as MIA north of Springer on Facebook. He was just found deceased, no cause of death given. March 11. I get the winter hiker deaths in the northeast this early in the year, and North Georgia in March is colder than people may realize but still....I'm hoping that it wasn't self-inflicted... |

Hate to see this. Hasn’t been any winter weather in weeks. It’s 80* here in east TN by the Smokies today. About to get cold again though. Got some sodas from miss Janet going up Unaka in 2017, then got a ride to resupply by her up in Maine later that year. RIP bro.  |

She was my first trail angel of any sort in '24 I was actually hoping I'd run into Fresh Ground in Georgia, but he was off and running earlier than me and was way north by then. |

| Suicide makes sense. Probably just walked out from the parking area that crosses a mile or whatever north of Springer. Nothing good about suicide. Now everyone on the trail gets to discuss it. it will define a lot of AT stories from here out. |
