I am thinking of getting one for camping for my IC-705 setup. If you have one do you like it? |

I have an XPA 125B, and it works fine. I also have a micro pa100 amplifier. I have no experience with the new amplifier, but I imagine it is built a lot like their original amp without the tuner, and the wireless connection to an IC705 is pretty cool. For portable I use the micro pa100. It is smaller and easier to move around and carry. |

I went boat camping last weekend to a remote location in northern Maine, and my 10 watt IC-705 was lacking. I did make SSB QSOs into MA, VT, NY, CT, NH, ME and MD on 20m and 40m using a QRPguys 40m endfed, but I really could have used more power to make it easier for the guys on the other end. Looks like the micro pa100 is what i am looking for. Thanks. |
