I have one of the Giga Parts Explorer battery boxes and couldn't find a 40 or 50 amp hour battery that would fit without breaking the bank. I went with four 10 amp hour batteries connected in parallel instead and save quite a bit of money in the process. |

I've found 12Ah to be a bit much for a G90, but at least these come with compatible Power Poles already attached. If I had it to do over I'd go smaller (and more to the point, lighter) than 12Ah for Xiegu portable ops. And I can't bring myself to take the 7300 into the field - The Precious!

A couple of comments to add to this thread... I use these exact batteries in my POTA activations - I made 186 contacts at 100W with a Yaesu FT-891 - in a 3 hour run and still had a little juice left... For a better deal on these or any other purchases from the Bioenno web site - go to their main page and click on the SALE link - you can purchase a $150 gift card for $100. Do this before your purchase and save more $$$... LINK Also a Xiegu G90 works great with the Bioenno 6ah battery and the Xiegu G106 does well with the 3ah battery... Also Bioenno Power states that their built-in Protection Circuit Module (PCM) / Battery Management System (BMS) is designed for single-battery use, and they do not guarantee operability or recommend parallel/series setups if a single larger battery can be used instead... LINK Just a little FYI from someone who has been there and done that... |
| One other thing I forgot. These batteries are rated at 20 A max discharge rate, which is about a 100 W radio. So these are fine on a 100 W radio. But, you need to watch that if you try and go with a smaller battery. Untold things may occur if asked for much more power then they are rated for. |

I just made a battery box out of a 30 cal plastic ammo can with 2 x 20 ahr Chinese LiFePo4 batteries in parallel ( 40 ahr ) and am now concerned about that. |

So the powerqueen brand still looks like the better deal? Had good reviews from Will Prowse. PowerQueen Brand 100ah 250$ Just a size difference that makes it not good for POTA. Did not look at comparable 12ah. |

It appears that Lithium batteries are typically allowed onboard a plane but only within carry on luggage, 100 watt-hours max per battery and likely ~2 batteries permitted. The label on these Bioenno batteries declare the watt-hours. Soon I will be south of the Equator for a few days and am taking my KX-2 with me. I was planning to take a battery holder and buy some AA batteries down there, but maybe I'll also take my very small Elecraft Lithium battery with me. |
