Welcome to the new Forum to all of those who walk a little salty, or at least don't get seasick . I don't imagine we will get too many serious arguments here, but if you Bayliner v Searay guys could keep it too a dull roar it would be much appreciated. I have asked that this forum include all manner of boating and watercraft issues so as not to leave anyone out, Sailors will be welcome. Lest we forget that with current fuel costs, it may well come about that their craft will again become a viable alternative for some and besides, its just about having fun and being out on the water. Enjoy the forum and I hope we all enjoy our time on the water.

What's up with that guy? He's a complete meatspike. It's like every time he gets behind the wheel he turns into a total moron and goes "Durr I'm driving a boat (drool)"

Both Cancer and California are abbreviated "CA". Coincidence? I think not.

This a good place for me to ask this question:
Several years ago there was a company that made an outboard motor that was backwards (the prop was in the front of the motor as opposed to being in the back of the motor). Who made / makes this motor? |

That was the top secret Polish Navy Assult Motor.
Seriously, I am curious also. Never heard of one. I have seen small outboards that could be rotated 180 deg. for reverse though like a Seagull. |

LoL. That's funny. I know I watched on one of the fishing shows a few years ago. I'm guessing the idea didn't fly so it was shit canned. Justcan't seem to find any info about online to show my buddy. |

Well it appears that Volvo makes a motor like that.
VOLVO Still not what I was looking for. I know there was a company that made an outboard like this. Anyone? |

never heard of an outboard with a forward facing prop. drives like this have been around and in use on the industrial marine side for years, they're called azimuth drives, Z drives, azipods, etc. they provide amazing maneuverability, mostly you see them on tugboats and OSV's (off shore supply vessels) which require exact maneuverability. they've also become common place on cruise ships, only recently they've become available to the recreational boating market.

I put together a 1974 16'7" Boston Whaler with a 1996 Evinrude 90hp, a few years back. Right now it's kind of like a rat rod for the water, a $6,000 boat that looks like a $2,000 boat. It's a great boat for running the Mississippi and St Croix rivers, and bringing the dogs out camping. I will have to post some pics later.

I am saddened by your plight. Allow me to offer my deepest and sincerest condolence. However, I do not have the Chaplain’s duty and I am short of towels. Please see the Captain of the Head for material for drying your eyes.
