I have a cw signal at 1300 hz i think.
All i am getting is jibberish and the waterfall from the signal is in that cw path |

CW shouldn't make olivia not decode correctly.

Small net, conditions were a little weak but not terrible.
3 check ins + NC tonight. |

I had work stuff tonight and probably won't make it next week either as I'll be on a business trip to AL. It's unlikely I'll be able to get on my computer at 6cst.

We'll need a volunteer NC this week, between work and what looks to be an apocalyptic snow storm
headed by way I don't think I'll be able to make it on the air by net time. Next week things should be back to normal for a month or two, hopefully. |

I am unable to TX for some reason, I can RX fine.
I can not call net at this time. |
Ok, back on line, late start.
Was able to get a quick check in from my phone. Using fldigi over vnc viewer off an iPhone whilst riding in a rental car on the way to dinner.

We had three checkins tonight. I heard another station prenet, but I didn't hear them during the net. Sorry if the late net start was an issue for anyone.
I switched on the computer about 20 min before net and had issues with it. It took awhile to sort out, but it worked out alright. |
I should be around to NC tonight, assuming I have power working -- big snowstorm here today.

First two reminders out at 2300Z and 2315Z.

The noise level here is just crazy low tonight apparently given the SNRs I'm seeing.
ETA: Nice net, while signals were a little low the SNR wasn't. I counted six stations, counting one who I think was Hogsniper having tech issues, plus NC. |

Good copy from IL, TX, VA and MI here in SE OH. I could copy NC but I wasn't heard after multiple attempts. [shrug]

It went away about half way through the net, but I still had some fast QSB. But coppied all 100% with no probs on both antennas. |

I was gonna try again with late check in but this was all I copied from your last:
Callnet - ope to svery - JW The DM780 hosed up on me when I attempted 1st time. I have a new copy of HRD installed, something is still not right in DM780 settings. I can't tell if I'm xmitting or not now. Maybe next week. |

I had no copy on NCS but I could see him on the waterfall. I checked in during a lull. I finally got about 50% of NCS when he was calling for lates. I copied MO, IL, TX, & VA well.
W1911, i didn't hear your checkin, but i had a great copy on your report with the verticle. |

I'll be present to NC tonight's net.

Conditions seem pretty good so far, and the net has just started.
ETA: seems like the noise floor came up a bunch here, not sure if that's the band or some kind of local QRM. |

Small net tonight, 2 stations + NC.
Everyone was 100%, I did a quick post-net check and it looks like there's a transformer or something going bad in my area blowing up the noise floor. |

I tuned in late do to a computer issue, again. I came in halfway through W1911's report. I was able to copy RS70's report loud and clear.
I was able to hear NCS response about snow to mud, then he faded to 0% copy. Maybe next week. |
I'll start doing notices on 20M at 2330Z as well, as pointed out during the net with DST coming
20M may start to be the better band at net time. |

I missed the net, had to do replace the rear brakes on my wife's car. Said it was making a grinding noise, I looked and the lining completely separated on one of the rear pads, the other pad was 3/16" thk still.

I will NC this week. Current plan is to do the usual reminders starting at 2300Z, and
do a quick check of 20M after the 2330Z reminder. As usual 40M is 7120KHz and 20M is 14067.5 KHz. |

20M is looking like a strong contender this week, at least
ETA: Let's go with 20M this week. The net will be on 14067.5 at 0000Z. I'll say so on the 2345Z 40M notice and update the thread title. |

You are spotty on 40m, I would peobably need a relay
This was my outlook on 40m. Not making it past the rockies.
Attached File 20 much better Attached File |
On JS8, i was mostly East of the Rockies on 40m. 20m was spread out nationwide. Usually, 20m is West for me.
Right around 0040Z or so the band seems to have died on me.
Everyone was solid up until that point then it went ghost print and very quiet. I counted 9 stations including one early check in, pretty big net compared to the past couple months! |

Sorry I dropped out. Trying to setup fldigi since it has WEFAX unlike HRD.
Had it all set until I raised my power level to 25W then RX froze on fldigi. I have RF getting into the shack computer. Restarting fldigi cures it and 10 watts seems to be ok so off to order some ferrite beads. |

No worries KB7DX, I'm pretty impressed 10W got here, I'm assuming that's got to be ground wave
to my place -- pretty impressive considering the billions of tons of rock it has to go through. |

At least I'm on a real antenna this time instead of a dummy load.
I finally did install a vertical here. I use an AH-4 tuner mounted to a mast at the eave of my roof with a 16ft aluminum tube radiator and a few radials strung down the eave. I'll put some ferrite beads out at the tuner on the coax and control cable to try to get rid of this RF in the shack. |
...behind every blade of grass...
Been through that in the old PK-232 days. Two ways it gets in are that the antenna is too close, and/ or it comes down the shield of the coax if there is any imbalance in the system. Ferrite on the cables where it's getting into the radio cables can help too. I keep ferrite on my USB cable to the rig and audio lines to the rig. (Different ports) HTH

I'll be around to NC tonight.
I'm leaving the net on 20M since it worked reasonably well last week. I'll still do warnings/reminders of the 20M net on 40M for propagation checks -- reports on both 40 and 20M appreciated. I'll start on 40M at 2300Z and switch to 20M after the 2330Z 40M announcement. |

Pretty much no question we're sticking to 20M, no copy on 40M and everyone is 100% on 20M.

Anybody else copy a FL qth stepping on Nmbmxer just as he was beginning his message? Not a callsign I've seen before.
Great net, 20M really carried things well, though it sounds like at least one of you
couldn't hear everyone else. Everyone was S7 or better and 100% copy at NC. I did notice slightly weaker signals as it got later but didn't lose anyone. Total of 6 stations + NC this week. |

I'll be present to NC tonight, we'll stay on 20M. I'll start the reminders at/after 2330Z on 20M, I will probably send a single
40M reminder right at 2330Z just for propagation test purposes, reports appreciated. |
