OK, I'm QRT. Either the storm is circling or it's waves of storms, strike finder is picking up more activity
getting closer and I can hear strong static crashes on 40M so back to unplugging everything. Anyone else wants to NC, jump right in. |

Hope the net is going/went OK. Good call on my part.
Lightning detector saw more than 200 strikes within 5 miles of me in the past 35 minutes. Crazy. |

Good net. I'm glad we stayed on 40m this time. I could hear everyone.
Thanks for relay.
Good net, 5 plus NC for 6. 40m was a bit rough for me tonight, 20m was sounding better, but it worked out well. I do love a good thunderstorm, but I think about it a lot more now that I have an antenna in the air. |
I won't be around for net tonight, family dinner.
I should be present to NC tonight. No storms in the forecast and not a cloud in the sky so
odds are good I can be on the air. I'll do the usual countdown on 40M with a 20M check after the 2330Z reminder and then we'll decide from there. |

It's thundering here currently, I may or may not get on the air tonight.

It's definitely that time of the year. We currently are having a break from out monsoon so no clouds today.
Hopefully it comes back, I'd rather not have forest fires and miss a little radio time than the opposite. On the plus side all the rain last week enhanced my ground and I'm getting 1:1 on the tuner for 40M for the first time in at least a year. |

Little net tonight... three stations + NC.
Bands were a bit rough as well, but I could hear everyone. Hopefully conditions are better next week. |

NC got steadily better throughout the net here. I copied none of the preamble, by the end I was copying about 80% of what you were sending.
I will try to be on tomorrow night. I will be portable, so I'll see how it goes. I probably won't be able to check here for band, so I'll bounce between the two to find it.
Highly probable we'll be on 40M tomorrow.
Also highly probable I'll have thunderstorms based on the forecast, but I'll try my best. |

2300Z and 2315Z reminders out. Storms in sight but no thunder.

I haven't been able to copy the net warnings thus far, I've seen a few characters decode that look like parts of words from the warning but that's it. I had good copy into centex like usual though.

solid copy on the 2355 announcement in Denver

We'll see how it goes, we might need to do relays tonight.

Went better than expected, seem like things improved after the net started.
Four stations + NC tonight. I kept the NC side brief in case we lost the band suddenly and I think everyone else did as well, so it made for a short net. |

Never heard NCS. Heard four other stations.

I had the radio set up and tuned early. But, I had to make my run and I missed the net. I had tried JS8 earlier, and I wasn't getting out very well.
I'll be present to NC tonight, weather permitting. Supposedly only a 20% change of rain this afternoon,
but they said that yesterday and we had a deluge. This will be my first post-lightning strike net so we'll find out just how well everything still works. |

Distant thunder and clouds everywhere but the last lightning strike detected was 9 miles away an hour ago.
First reminder out at 2300Z on 7120. We'll try 20M at 2330Z in case it's better. |

on 20M asking for reports. Sent 2330Z reminder on 40M asking for QSY to 14067.5 as well.
ETA: Starting to look like 20M is better than 40M since two of you have copy on 20M and no copy on 40M. ETA #2: We're going with 20M. Tonight's frequency is 14067.5 +1500 everyone! |

I just copied the first 2 lines on 20m, then it was like someone turned off a switch. Just went dead

20m is pretty squirrelly. Lots of fast QSB. But probably better than 40m.

I was able to copy everyone well tonight except NC. I was finally heard on 3rd check-in. I was just glad to check-in tonight.
I copied everyone, at least partially.
Total net was six stations + NC. The last station was pure ghost print on my end, literally just had a blank waterfall with decode appearing. First time in a while I didn't have 100% on everyone, a few of you were down in the 80% range and I had a really deep fade kill the first half of one response here. I doubt 40M would have been much better for most. Maybe we'll have better luck next week. |

We will need a volunteer NC for today (7/27) and next week (8/3) as I'll be tied up with work the next couple weeks.
