So my ten year old snake boots finally gave up. I was wearing them yesterday on my lease while messing with cameras and clearing stands. The soles just fell off in chunks. I figured being that old, plus sitting in a hot camper every year during the off season, just did a number on the integrity of the boot. They were Redheads.

So I’m curious about a new pair of Redhead boots, but I feel like the quality of that stuff has gone down considerably. I’m leaning towards maybe Lacrosse or DryShod Viperstop.

On my hunting property we have some big fat timber rattlesnakes

I’ve had a pair of Lacrosse brand that have held up well through several bow seasons so far and thankfully I have not had to test them yet . Mine also stay in a hot ass camp all summer.

I’ve had a few different pair and the Danner Sharptail are my favorites.  The Irish Setters leaked from day one but were comfortable otherwise.  The Lacross had good ratings but mine fell apart. I may have just gotten a bad pair. If you have a good thick boot to protect your toes then gators are a cheap option that should work.    Had I not bought the Danners it would have probably been the direction I went.
