Anyone ever tried them?  Do bass eat them?  How do you avoid the noxious spray they emit?

Any grasshopper has proven effective as bait. I always start out at a spot with a Rebel Crickhopper to see if anything is active. If nothing is interested in it, there is no reason to stay.

Giant grasshoppers when THROWN on the surface of a tank or pond are excellent ways to draw aggressive large mouth bass within range of a 12 gauge. It's a fucking blast!!! We did it as kids on my Uncles tank.
