| So, now that my son and daughter have really gotten into fishing its time to replace my aged/lost fishing stuff. Want to get back into a nice spinning reel. Been out of things so long I'm not sure which direction to go. I picked up a new soft tackle box and stocked it all back up. Been eyeballing a Shimano Miravel or maybe the Ultegra. Is the two-piece bailer really that much of a buzzkill? Stradic is way out my my league so was wanting to come in under that. Majority of my fishing will be smaller state lakes. |

Thats what I was looking at was a 2500-3000 reel for bass, walleye, crappie. Ultegra reel has a single piece bail arm where the Miravel is a two-piece wire bail arm where it meets the line roller. | The Shimano nasci is only 100 bucks and hits well out of its price point. I have several Ci4s and was surprised at how good the Nasci feels. Personally for spinning reels it’ll be my go to from now on. Just do a quick search you won’t find anyone saying anything bad about it. |
| I did some looking over the weekend and ended up finding an Academy locally that had a Nasci 2500 in stock. Picked it up on sale for $79 bucks. Grabbed a mid-level house brand panfish pole at Bass Pro and had them spool up the reel for me. Hope to test it out in a week or two. Reel is silky smooth!! |

Inland lakes, you’re fine with a Pflueger President combo. I have mostly Shimano, but I don’t buy more expensive than the Sahara line. Well, except the baitcasters. Most recently, I went to get a new Sahara 3000 size, because mine didn’t have the switchable antireverse and I missed it. But I ended up trying a Daiwa Tatula instead. The Daiwa has a lighter feel to it. It’s smooth, but not as smooth as the Shimano Sahara. It is also lighter as in it weighs less. I also had a Lew’s. It was decent, but not as good as the Daiwa or Shimano. Attached File ETA: just saw you ended up with the Nasci. Good price!
