Can we get a new pic thread up in here or what!?  I know I'll be out there for the opening day.

Got into a hunting club here by my house, seen some good bucks, no bruisers, but big bodied Dont wanna jinx it by putting a placeholder, but hell ill do it anyway Edit: Got a 98pound doe this evening in one of the management areas near the house. I got home from school and was cleaning my 35 Whelen and figured I'd go walk around and find a deer. Edge of dark came around and I saw two does in a food plot i walked up on. Only had a shot on the smaller one but hey, that's a 3 dollar deer right there! hit both lungs and the heart pass through. No pics, I was caught up in the moment but I will get pics of the next ones.  |

Archery season here opens a month from today, so my arrows will be worn out by that time from three months of daily practice.

Hunting season opened here Aug 15. I've seen plenty of does and fawns. Today was the first with antlers. And for the gear junkies:

You just never know. There's always the possibility of getting skunked when it comes to deer hunting. 
sc2, congratulations on your buck.  We've still got a couple of days shy of a month until archery season here, and over two months until any sort of firearms season.

I took this 3.5 year old 8-pointer this evening (October 2) at 6:49 PM. He weighed 180 pounds dressed on the processor's scales. Not my biggest rack or body by no means, but I couldn't help myself. We're only allowed one buck a year here in Indiana, and I can't believe I used my only buck tag on the second day of season.

We just have to follow the 4 pts on one side rule. But you can fill ALL the antlerless "doe" tags you want at $7 ea.! Still a nice deer though! Good luck to you for the rest of the season! |

Beautiful Buck. I'm heading up to Northern Wisconsin next weekend to check my trail cams and set up my 2 ground blinds. Hopefully there are some good bucks for me and my friends to take next month (Gun Deer Season). My buddy Roger took a spike a few weeks ago with his Matthews Bow (not sure of the model), so I'll have some deer for dinner on saturday. |
