Couple different trips from last summer Port O'Connor, TX, don't remember if I've posted them in here or not Can't wait to get to the coast once this semester is over with
Biggest red in the top pic was 32" and only kept it bc it was last trip of the year and hadn't used my oversized tag yet Biggest fish in the second pic was the trout measured just a hair under 27 3/4", which is massive for the waters we fish. Biggest trout I've ever caught in the 17 years I've been coast fishing. Caught her in the heat of the day in knee deep water fishing sand pots in the grass flats on an 8 inch live mullet. From where I was wading I could see the silhouette of the fish, so I launched out the biggest mullet I had in my bucket and after 6 hits and misses, I finally managed to set the hook, but swallowed it unfortunately, or she would've been released. |

My dad with his first Yellowfin at age 71. It was my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. 
My wife with her first YFT. 
A really big shark. At least ten feet long. I didn't ID it but it was caught in 5200 ft of water 69 miles from shore. 
I am sorry for not posting these as they happened but I won't let it happen again

Went on vacation with my family to North Myrtle Beach this weekend, and I spent a lot of time fishing off the pier. This was my first time fishing in saltwater, and I realy enjoyed it. Here are a few nice catches:
Small hammerhead I caught off the pier. He was about 1.5-2ft and 5#. Put up a heck of a fight for his size. 
16" 1.75# Whiting. Apparently this was a pretty big one. Sorry for the face crop of my friend...PERSEC and what not.

They have been catching hundreds of those little sharks on the Avon pier at OBX this week, mostly at night. Half the people who catch them are scared to death to handle the damn things to take them off their line -it's comical to watch. |

In my opinion, when they are that big, no. His looks over the limit but it could be close. They are usually full of worms and the bigger they are the worse they get. If I can't see their vertical black stripes, I usually toss them back. They are legal from 14-30 here in TX and I think anything up to about 20-25 is the sweet spot.
