Took out a couple of breeders over the weekend. All this rain that we have had over the summer has flooded the swamps and pushed the hogs out of the swamp and into the flat woods. They are ruining food plots and roads daily. I think its time to crack down on em!   |

Is it that you don't like pork or just don't like wild pork (I've not tried it myself but always heard if processed correctly it's better than domestic). Should do a poll to see how many hog hunters eat, at least some of, what they kill. I guess I always just assumed people would process and munch the piggies when it was feasible to do so. I know it's not always possible because of a lack of sanitary conditions and refrigeration. |

Hogs are great to eat, the only ones that are the exception is when you get into big old boars. Doesn't matter how many there are, I was raised to generally eat what I kill (except coyotes...)

| Got a 300lb sow this weekend, jumped it from a ditch at about 10yd, scared the crap out of me. Threw up and pooped it with the 30.06, dropped it right there. I've got pictures, but they're on my phone that crapped out that night, so I'll see if I can get them off later... |

Usually we just use a 22LR and have no problem with anything under 150lbs. This time a couple larger ones were spotted the night prior so instead we used pistols instead. The sow was about 220 and dropped in 1 shot, the piglet however took off once the mother was shot and I hit it once in the leg on the run and was able to put another through the lungs to put it down. 45acp sure did tear the hell out of the meat though. This was the entrance and exit on the little one. Ammo was Federal HST 230gr. In one leg and went out the other.

It's not fair, I wanna hunt some piggies! How many women are willing to go out hunt dinner, clean dinner, cook dinner, serve dinner and only make her hubby clean the dishes and the guns? lol. Seriously though I'm kidding but I am jealous of the hog hunting. |

I shot this BBW last Wed and took one rear quarter and both tenderloins for the freezer. I marinated one of the loins in italian dressing, butterflied and grilled last night. Turned out pretty tasty.

This past spring while guiding for a turkey hunt.
This one was darn near in the back yard.

Two shots for three with the Weatherby. 
Two for one shot with my .270 Weatherby mag 
All others killed with 55gr FMJ from my CMMG 11.5 SBR. Longest shot was 75 yards. Big fella was at 20 yards. |
