Wow, this stirred up a bunch of happy memories!  I think i started the campouts, the Northeast Division survival campouts.  We found a place that we could shoot, so we truck camped, did field craft and tactical training and some defensive shooting.  The Other Dave showed up around 2005, in a minivan...  and told jokes for 3 hours straight!  Those were great times,  watching my kid learning from everybody...  BTW he's 31, married for 4 or 5 years to a wonderful young woman. He finally graduated from nursing school and passed his state boards for RN , after taking the " scenic route."  He's about 6'3" and about 250...

The ex and I moved to FL in 2014 and promptly got divorced.  I'm happily single..

Preps down here are not unusual due to the 'canes.  The kid has my PTO generator,  I bought an HF special a year or two ago and haven't even put gas in it..  as far as the forum goes, after 36 years I'm set up.  Need to store gas now, my only diesel is the old Blazer.  Still have it, 32 years..

Protus we need to get together here soon.  Been saying that for 20 years too...

I'll have  to drudge that up. My wife is moving me to Florida in the next year/year and a half. It will kind of screw up my retirement plans, but she's owed this one and it's moving closer to her family, just sonner than originally planned (Chipley area north of Panama City).

IIRC, the salient point about me in my minivan was that the campout was up a mountain 2-track and when I got to the camp site, there was a dude up there already from our group who was stuck in his 4x4, LOL.

Remember the local-yokel who heard there was someone stuck up on the mountain and grabbed his tractor and come-along just to help someone out? That dude was awesome!

That was also the VASpook deal, got home and he started working me and trying to get me to do NFA and manufacturing violations-he even tried to set me up with a honeypot… There’s a special place in hell for that dude, I wonder who he might have jammed up…

some of us just got old and are less mobile.  It's a hoot to see so many familiar faces on this thread.  I can remember many a hike through the Ocala NF,  4x4 trail drives,  camping with the group on the lake,  shooting at the range there.....................

I'm in at least as far as driving down to see old friends.  I could bring a case of cold ones and some grub as well.  Might not stay and camp.

I was vacationing in FL and jumped on ARF for some plane reading. Random I clicked on this thread. I didn't post as much as all of you back in the day but read plenty.

Glad you all seem to be doing well.

Those were great threads and lots of humor.

I’ve hung out in these forums under a different moniker for many moons  (changed mine when they let me because some other guy using a similar one was causing some issues).

Remember all the TJ talks and gear exposés including Gunkid and his survival wheelbarrow.
Good times.  You guys need to reconnect as best you can.  We ain’t getting any younger.

this was the thing before fakebook. I used to print off a bunch of stuff when i was at work.  I had to change my call sign on here one time. so my 20 year badge should of been like 25 year badge.. LOL.. oh well.
I do remember protus making a sealed room and saying that it was  air tight or something like that with a filtered ventalation system.. oh, man been so long ago.

LMao.
Yeah I did the whole positive pressure test . Think it was during the swine, bird murder whatever doom gloom at the time.
Sealed every thing with tape and 4mil sheeting..used an old ozone machine that the fan still worked in. Built a filter box and went to work.
Think I got the idea off alpha Rubicon for the filter set up.
I grabbed a cooler of beer and went posting here. Updates played some video games.....maybe got 5 hours into it...when I had to piss something fierce...even though I was in my " prep" room ...
I did not think about if I had to piss
The room worked , as the door sheet was puffed out tight ,I had to cut an exhaust flap in it.
So it was piss in the empty beer bottles or step out ..
I choose to step out and iirc went back in for a few more hours..
Neat little experiment for sure..
I learned to keep at least 1 empty bucket in my prep rooms ever since
i dont want my final jig in the belly of a squid.
