I went with my 12 year old to the local store.
I got a 8 foot rod on sale and a bunch of other stuff.
We walk outside the store, I take no more than 10 feet outside the door and I hear a "SNAP".

I look back and my daughter is now holding a 7.5' rod. She was holding it tip down, wasn't watching and stuck in the ground. Learning lesson all around

Sigh....I love her

The worst sound on the river is a bamboo fly rod snapping, you can hear that from 100 yards away and know exactly what it is without looking.

So many more I can’t remember them all. Yes those are all mine….
