We have a Norcold fridge in the RPod and have a situation with the touch panel that turns it on and off. Seems the foam padding between the button and the circuit board sensor is not conducting the signal from my finger to turn the fridge on and off. Attached is a photo of the inside of the housing that goes over the circuit board. Attached File Inside the housing is conducting foam. After talking with the dealer, it my have dried out or shrunk. I'm getting a warranty replacement, but I imagine this issue will reappear in the future. This is a photo of the circuit board. The gold area is like a touch lamp. When I press my finger to this gold area, I can turn the fridge on and off. Attached File Is there a foam or material that I can buy to replace the black foam in the housing and be more reliable than the factory foam? Anyone have any ideas? Steel wool? Copper wool? Thanks. |

Carbon impregnated rubber. You can find either the liquid stuff used to repair remotes. And now I see that you can get stick-on pads that will do the same thing. And hello fellow FROG owner.  We've got a 2020 Coachman Apex Nano 187RB.ETA: Rubber Keypad Repair or some other similar search term on fleabay or scamazon will get ya to it. |

Another option is conductive foam. Used for storing IC's, as it basically shorts all the pins together so a charge can't take a single path thru the chip. |

I could probably stack a few of those round pads on the contact sensor and fill the gap. The dealer is getting me a replacement housing, so I might have 2, one main and one I can work with and test out with pads and rubber. We're using a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie to pull it. Truck is rated for 8170# and the 193 has a GVWR of around 4800#. We're taking a short trip next weekend for a couple nights to shake everything out and find out what we don't know. Yeah, it's good towing well under the max weight of the tow rig. We tow with Grand Cherokees. Mine's a '16 with the Hemi, 7200# rated, Wodstock's is a '17 with the 3.6 V6, 6200# rated. Our camper's max weight is 3800# (3500# axle, 300#'ish tongue). I know we're overweight, just due to the two batteries, 40# of propane, and additional stuff we've added inside, plus the usual cargo/gear. It only had about 450# of cargo weight empty. Funny thing is in 2022, they upped the axle from a 3500# to a 4400# unit. Wish ours had that, but we'll make due until it fails, then I'll upgrade it.
