My fishing experience is bass, brim, crappie, with a bait caster.  Years ago a buddy (whom I no longer have contact with) took me trolling for stripers on a local lake.  We had one rod on either Side of the boat and used some type of umbrella rig...we wrecked them it was a glorious day fishing.  Fast forward my daughter loves fishing and I would like to try and replicate this type of set up to hopefully let her reel in some big ones.   I have a bow rider Boat, and standard rods but figure I need a little bigger rod for tolling?  Any ideas on a similar setup?

Not a lot of help but last time I was fishing for stripers we were using large Hellbenders with the front treble hook replaced with 3 feet of leader and a jig at the end of that.

On Lake Ouachita near hot Springs Arkansas, we start the day with topwater.
We cast C10 redfins.
Then we go to the umbrella rigs. Ours are 3 arms with a 6 oz center weight.
We rig each arm with a short leader and 1 oz Hyper Striper horse head jigs with a spinner blade on the head.
White or Chartreuse jigs with Hyper Striper 6" plastic tails
There is a split ring on the back of the center weight we rig with a longer leader and a 6" Sassy Shad
We drag them 30-60 feet behind the boat at around 3 mph.
Good times.
Gotta trip coming up the end of March.

Look for K&G tackle umbrella rigs and Hyper Striper jigs 3/4 or 1 oz
