Didnt plan on today being a big prep day but it ended up that way  First picked up a never used 12qt Mirro (WI not China) canner for $40 from a seller on craigslist. Attached File Then went to the store and got 24 cans of tomatoes for $0.39 each and a dozen jars of PB for $1 each.  Attached File |

Finally jumping in on this subforum. Can't believe I haven't already! Recent things: did a detail catalog of my stored food, and packed it into small plano totes. It's already mylar sealed or in cans. Then rough mathed the calories and found out I'm about a week short of my current goal. One of the totes is half empty though.... I've lost 42 lbs since my daughter was born last year and am shooting to lose another 40. Finally stored some water in 55gal drums, now I have about 200gallons in addition to a few cases of water. To do in the near future: Get my ham license, the tests keep getting cancelled and I have little incentive to study. Will likely shelf this till after my finals this semester. Catalog ammo and magazines. Have a decent idea of ammo stores but have been reloading a lot and didn't keep great track of everything coming in in 2019. No idea on magazines. Spare parts for reloading press. Stripped some threads on a 30 cal decapping rod yesterday. The damage was minimal and I was able to shorten the rod and repair the remaining threads on my lathe. If the rod snapped I'd be dead in the water for 300blk. Finish that last tote of food. Start prepping the garden for April. Test fire up the generator, swap the one partial 20lber propane tank I have. Theres a million other things but thats what comes to mind first. Reading about y'alls preps is super encouraging and is giving me good ideas so keep up the posts! |

As I wrote earlier, some of ours were from 2003, and since the room where they were stored was not heated or even that tight, we sealed them in painters plastic simply to keep the moisture and dust off of them. They were fine. Some of the flats we used this year were purchased from goodwill style stores around the same time frame, they had just got overlooked over time. They were just stored in plastic rubbermade style totes. They also worked fine, but they would not have sold (or traded) at a premium because they did not look as nice as the well wrapped ones. They quite possibly did not look as nice when they were purchased, but as long as the lids were not heavily rusted, we used these for personal use and had no issues. |

| Today I was at our shops warehouse dumping some trash in the dumpster and saw in the dumpster a bunch of the little first aid kits they put in the gang boxes, after checking I found out that when the gang box comes back from a job to the shop if the outer plastic wrap on the first aid kit is gone they are not allowed to send it back out so they threw a bunch of 99% full first aid kits, I ended up filling up two five gallon buckets with the contents of about 20-25 of the kits. My first aid stash took a big jump today. |

Got my new Yaesu ham hand held radio in today. Friend from work and I ordered the same model so he's going to program both. For the first time ever, I saw the buckets of fd food at Costco today so I grabbed one. Picked up 2 bottles of Makers Mark for snake bite kits

Loaded up the last of the 300blk bullets I have and started in on some 556sp. Cleaned up the basement a lot and mostly got the bike ready to sell. Waiting in a part to come in and then I'll clean and list it up. Verified the genny would start up just fine but I'm not getting any power out of it. Used a multimeter to check the voltage at the plug and was getting crazy low readings. Dunno if the governor needs adjusting or if something has busted in it. More research needed. |

Sounds like you may have to re energize the generator. It's easy to do just look it up on YouTube |

Going to a ccw class this weekend and then my permit. Just bought a sccy cpx-2rds. Decent price and very concealable. |

Fitness: Lost 20 lbs last year. Started on the next 20 this week. Finances: Paid down a huge chunk of debt. Wish I had a way to get the mortgage paid off faster. I also started learning and dabbling in cryptocurrency. Food: I've been ruling a vey full pantry since I first heard wind of Covid being a real thing. I have at least 5 months of food on hand. Working on longer term food preps now. Still need a better water solution than I have. |

Yesterday picked up 4 doz rings and lids for regular sized Mason jars at Wally- world. Today I did my second ever pressure canning round: 10 pints of pork sausage which ended up being about 9lbs. The sausage was from a local grocery store which has been a honey- hole for unadvertised meat specials. $1/lb -- I got another 10lbs for the freezer. |
