Iowa zone 5A. Ph is around 6.5 and 7. Soil is loamy. Its a 50'x5' section I havent done anything with yet. This is in my designated berry paddock. It doesnt have to be a berry, but something edible is preferred. I already have a large veg garden, and other seperate orchards with apple, plum, apicot and cherry trees. Along with more pears and peaches. This is a new section I started last fall. In it, it already has: 6 dwarf peach 6 dwarf pear 10 assorted blueberry potted 25 assorted raspberry 10 assorted honeyberry That's plenty of raspberry/blueberry and honeyberry berries for our family so I'm just looking for new ideas and/or anything I missed. | If you can drop the Ph a little bit it looks like a perfect spot for strawberries. They like the Ph to be around 6.0 give or take a little. |

Well, I planted a row of jostaberries in that spot. Did some research and they seemed like a good fit. The plants grow quite large for a berry bush, so we should harvest a lot of fruit in due time and they will make a nice wind block for my yound fruit trees. Anyone here grow jostaberries and what do you think of them? |
