My 2007 df140 lower unit bit the dust with metal chunks.

I found two 2017 df140 rebuilt lower units.
Will they fit.
Been told the gearing is different but not much else.

I don't have the money for a new lower unit and the motor is just not quite worth it.

I priced out rebuilding zuk lower units here in Alaska some years ago for a 40hp.
It was the price of a new lower unit.

For some odd reason zuk lower units cost way more to rebuild.

Well it might be worth it for a new one then. Don’t they still have the best warranty?

Used one
Ouch I did a google search. Suzuki is expensive and there’s not enough used units available for a custom rebuild like a Mercury or Yamaha. I would still contact Bob’s machine and see what he has. He builds high flow cooling lower units. And he might know of some other companies that rebuild them. Your other option would be go with a jet drive until you find a bargain.

Don't have the money after we bought a new lower unit for yammie 90.

The zuk has some issues and I would rather not spend that much on it.

Jet foots don't work well with rough rivers and heavy loads.

Yeah they don’t work well here with the vegetation. My other suggestion would be find a used outboard. Sometimes you just need to be patient and watch FB market place.

Would you trust and run this lower unit?

So far it is the best looking used one I have seen.
