 My 2007 df140 lower unit bit the dust with metal chunks. I found two 2017 df140 rebuilt lower units. Will they fit. Been told the gearing is different but not much else. I don't have the money for a new lower unit and the motor is just not quite worth it. |

I would look at Boats.net and compare the part numbers between the two models. I took a quick look, but without the serial/model number I'd be guessing. If the only difference is the gear ratio, assuming they aren't too different, you could probably get away with it by re-propping to get your WOT RPM's in range. If they are vastly different, like one is a 1.88 and the other is 2.33, then it may not work even with re-propping. |

Used one Ouch I did a google search. Suzuki is expensive and there’s not enough used units available for a custom rebuild like a Mercury or Yamaha. I would still contact Bob’s machine and see what he has. He builds high flow cooling lower units. And he might know of some other companies that rebuild them. Your other option would be go with a jet drive until you find a bargain. |

It looks pretty good for being from Florida and probably been in saltwater.
My only concern is that the prop shaft carrier looks corroded around the shaft area. I would want to see close-up pics of the carrier before I would buy it. This is also assuming the innards are OK and not rusty or damaged and it passes a vacuum and pressure test. |
