| Do you brush your teeth and finish grooming in the kitchen sink after a shower? I don’t understand this design. I would prefer a wet bath instead of a dry bath without a sink. |

My most limiting factor is a want to stay as close to 3000 lbs dry as I can. My tow vehicle is a Toyota 4Runner with 5000lb tow capacity. The one(s) that have the features you are looking for with a welded metal superstructure and little/no wood because water intrusion in a travel trailer is an inevitability. The Indiana built shit is of notoriously low quality. Materials, construction, everything. Don't just get in one and say "Ooh, hey that looks nice". Open doors,drawers,cabinets. Look at fitment and all the shot through fasteners, pinched wiring and cheapest Chinese shit plumbing you can imagine, get under it and look at the welds then imagine what all of that is going to look like in 5 years. I spent 2 years trying to find a domestically produced trailer that fit my criteria and wasn't built by blind monkeys on meth, in the end I had one built in Australia (SniperX-12) and shipped which came with it's own problems, if I was doing it again I would lean heavily toward Antishanty although I did look at Taxa If you are not in a rush, I highly recommend one of the Overland Expos (West ,PNW,Mountain West,East) you will see stuff that you never knew existed. |

Absolutely love my 17' Casita trailer. The wet bath in that little trailer is worth a LOT, though I understand it may not be for everyone. Without sharing too much information, the shower head is close to the head such that a person can easily wash important areas if needed. I usually carry extra water in the back of my truck though I rarely use it. The trailer is not big enough for two people to live in for extended time periods, but I primarily wanted it for security and the available amenities in the event my wife and I go somewhere for an extended weekend. I did not want a full size trailer. If two people are moving around, someone needs to go outside or sit down and tuck both legs under a table. I should have bought one of these when I returned to college a few(?) years ago. As a single individual I would have been better in a small RV in a trailer park than in an apartment with roommates. Then again, maybe not, but given correct circumstances in a relatively crime free neighborhood... Edit: forgot, the trailer last weighed about 2700 to 2750 lbs. at the axle when I last weighed it on a drive-over scale. lightly loaded inside the trailer. |
