the firmware in the head unit is corrupt. I've worked with xiegu tech support and did all the things they said to do. their solution was to send it back in, but that would be cost prohibited (more likely more than the cost of a whole new radio) head unit powers up and acts normal visually (audio is garbled/unintelligible), but the firmware can't be re-flashed, power is tripped every time trying to go into program it. (even totally disconnected from the main unit) I'll get into the group and see what other things that could be tried, but I figured there might be a head unit not being used somewhere due to a bricked main unit or something. Just trying to salvage what I can at minimal cost. This has been an otherwise great little radio |

I had a buddy who bricked his G90 trying to flash it, and I used the Farnsworth tools on Linux to re-flash it and it came back to life. win 10p & tera term when you say "bricked", what do you mean? when I try and flash the head (main body goes okay) I get the option 1 & 2, but the instant that happens the power trips eta: still waiting on that io group.. I confirmed my email and haven't heard anything back in days

I looked at that and what I was reading sounded familiar, so I looked, and I had the g90updatefw on my computer already. so odds are that I already tried it. but I'll try again with my linux machine.. it doesn't cost more to try.

at this point, I don't know and now I don't care. Never heard back from the forum join request.. and have already bought it's replacement, the QMX+. in the future, maybe a KX3. |
